Here are a few local events for good family fun!
Washington State
“Free Fishing Weekend” is June 6-7, 2015, when fishing licenses are not required of anyone to fish in Washington. Free Fishing Weekend in Washington is always the first weekend after the first Monday in June.
Also NOT required on Free Fishing Weekend:
- Vehicle Access Pass (which comes with a fishing license)
- Discover Pass
- Columbia River Salmon/Steelhead Endorsement
- Two-Pole Endorsement
Remember - all other rules still apply, including seasons, area and lure or bait restrictions, and size and catch limits. Catch Record Cards (first one is free) are required to fish for salmon, sturgeon, steelhead, and halibut. Please see the Fishing Regulation Pamphlet for all rules and restrictions.
Lind, WA
The 2015 Famous Combine Demolition Derby in Lind, WA is June 12 & 13. This is the 28th year of this event, which began in 1988. Car and Pickup Races begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015. The Main Event – Combine Demolition Derby™ is at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13.
The Arena RV Campsite is full, however the Lind Lions opened a new RV Parking area adjacent to the arena and Derby RV Parking is available. For more information or reservations click here.

Spokane, WA
Spokane’s Riverfront Park is always hopping with excitement. Hike along the trails, over the bridges to view the falls, ride the gondolas, amusement rides, train or Carrousel any day of the week. Or take in one of the many events in or near the Park. The Park is a short walk from downtown – enjoy Spokane!

On Tuesdays in North Spokane on Mt. Spokane Park Drive behind Yokes in Mead, you can see the following films:

The Kootenai County Fairgrounds in Coeur d’Alene will be bustling with activities on June 6 and 7. The Lake City Junior Rodeo and the North Idaho Mineral Club Rock and Gem Show will sure to be crowd pleasers. More information can be found at The Fairgrounds website.
