Fun Things to Do in Spokane, Washington

Spring time is a great time to hit the road in your RV. So why not plan a trip to Spokane, Washington? Spokane is a Native American word that translates to “children of the sun”, very fitting since Spokane has an average of 260 days of sunshine each year! It’s beautiful landscape is scattered with glistening lakes and picturesque mountain peaks, perfect for outdoor recreation and water sports. If water recreation isn’t your forte, take a hike through Shadow mountain or bike along the Centennial Trail. If you're looking to venture into the city, Spokane is one of the more cosmopolitan cities in eastern Washington. If you’re thinking about visiting Spokane, here are a few ideas of things to do.

    Visit a State Park

There are a couple of great State Parks to visit while you're in Spokane. Riverside State Park offers a great variety of things to do. If you are looking to camp out, look no further. Riverside offers five different campgrounds all with great amenities. Looking for a place to hike or ride a bike perhaps? The Bowl and Pitcher are at ground zero with hiking and biking trails that overlook the Spokane river. Have the kids with you? Check out the Nine Mile Recreation Area where you will find the dock, picnic area and RV hookup sites. The kids will love the beach in this area as well! You can rent a canoe, kayak or enjoy a day of fishing and boating. If it's a beautiful view you’re after then check out the Long Lake Campground located on the bluff above Lake Spokane. Here you can explore Indian Painted Rocks or take in the incredible views of Long Lake Dam. If you have your horse friends in tow, Riverside has an Equestrian Campground that's open all year round.
